SPIRITUAL LIFE:
Hey Freshmen! My name is Sarah Gregg and I am your other Spiritual Life Committee Head. I am a junior biology major from Duncan, OK and I absolutely love OC. I am excited for Earn Your Wings to be here so I can get to know your Freshman class, and you can start falling in love with the university that I call home during the school year!
This summer has absolutely flown by! I know you are excited to get to OC and start making friends that will last forever, but you may have a little bit of what I like to call a “freak out moment” before you get here. You may get worried feelings, anxiety about roommates or leaving home, or uneasiness about this whole college situation. Don’t worry. Everyone gets them. When this happens to me (it happens A LOT) I turn to Philippians 4:4-7.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
God is in control. He knows what’s going to happen before it happens. He knows the plan. He gives us peace. Not just any peace, but peace that we really can’t understand, but there is a promise that it’s AWESOME!

My name is Sarah Graham. I am a twenty-one year old senior from Coffeyville, Kansas. I enjoy being creative, traveling, spending time with my friends, and watching sports. My favorite athlete is Michael Phelps. I transferred to OC after one year at a community college and have been so blessed by the community of OC and the many friends I have met throughout my journey. My favorite memory at EYW was spending time with all my new friends in my hub at Dry Gulch. My favorite thing about OC is Student Life. They really know how to bless the students at OC and have been my family away from home.
Hey there, future Eagles! My name is Teaven Taylor. I’m from a small town in Southwest Missouri, and have been at OC since my glorious first time at Earn Your Wings. I will be a senior mechanical engineering major once classes start. My favorite memory from EYW is either crowd surfing for the first time in my life at the Summer Singers concert, or playing in the volleyball tournament with a bunch of awesome people I had just met. That's part of why I love OC. I know the relationships I have made here will last a lifetime, and even beyond this life!
Hey Guys! My name is Madison and I’m a Senior Theatre Performance and Vocational Ministry major here at OC! I have performed in several musicals in my years here as well as in the Opera! I am a freshman link, an intern at Memorial Road Church of Christ, and one of your Assistant Directors for this years Earn Your Wings! I love bright colors, no-name bands, rain, all things soft and fluffy, the Texas Rangers and I LOVE Harry Potter. Can’t wait to meet y’all!
My favorite memory of Earn Your Wings was getting to know my hub leader, Kayla. She was fabulous and we are still great friends! She made sure that we were having fun and making the most out of our EYDub experience! :)
One of my favorite memories in my time so far at OC is when one of my best friends Laura and I stayed up half the night singing “Kiss the Girl” and yelling Emperor’s New Groove quotes out the window at couples “talking” behind Gunn Henderson dorm...we were really cool.
Hey future freshmen and transfers! My name is Andrea Beekman and I am cannot wait to meet you all at EYW 2011. I am a senior nursing major from Portland, OR. I love to bake, eat chocolate and enjoy spending as much time as I can with my family and friends. I have loved the past three years at OC, it has molded me spiritually and academically in order to prepare me for what God’s plan is for me after my college years. My journey at OC began 3 years ago at EYW, where I met some of my best friends and role models that have changed my life in so many different ways. We are so excited for all of you to have the opportunity to have this experience so get PUMPED because EYW will be a blast!
Hey! My name is Kaci Shough. I am a junior nursing major and I can't wait to start clinicals this fall. I enjoy running and playing most sports, my favorite being soccer. My favorite food is cheese and my favorite color is blue. I am a part of Theta Theta Theta social club, where I am proud to be this next year's rush director.
My favorite EYW memory is when we first got to Dry Gulch. It started raining and my friend Caroline and I danced in the rain to "Singing in the Rain". I also loved the SummerSingers concert! My favorite part about being at OC is the people. I have made the best friends of my life at this school, and everyone cares for you as if you were family.
I have a strong love for EYW and OC because of what they have done for me. My hope is that each of you will get the same experience. :)
